Back in 1999, Apple released QuickTime 4 which, among other features, allowed “Present” mode. On Powerbooks with an external A/V jack, you could screen movies with an LCD.Because of QuickTime’s editing features, and it’s (at the time) cutting edge compressor codecs, I was able to remaster an entire unfinished feature independent movie I had shot in a Broadcast analog format, using only QuickTime and Adobe Premiere.I showed a trailer for my movie to Nels Johnson, an editor at DV Magazine.
